Contraindications

Unfortunately, some medical conditions can restrict clients from receiving powder brow service.

MEDICATIONS

  • Accutane/Retin-A - Individuals who have been taking acne medications such as Accutane or Retin-A within the last 6 months have an altered skin condition that will not heal well after the procedure. It's very important that you wait at least 6 months before tattooing the skin. Similarly, Retinol and Vitamin A users should discontinue usage on month prior to their procedure.
  • Latisse - Eyelash and eyebrow growth serum bring extra circulation (aka blood flow) to the area resulting in the growth of more hair/lashes. If you are using Latisse or any other eyelash or eyebrow growth serum, the skin in that area is in a hypersensitive state and will bleed easily. These products should be discontinued at least 3-6 months prior to the eyebrow procedure.

MEDICAL CONDITIONS

  • If you are pregnant, have hemophilia  or a heart condition, it is not recommended to get any form of cosmetic tattoo done as this puts you in the high risk position. People who have heart issues often are on medication that thins blood which will cause excessive bleeding and lead to poor results. Consultation with your physician in this case is recommended.
  • Diabetic clients who are insulin-dependent often do not heal as well and may be at a height risk of infection.

OTHER CONTRAINDICATIONS

  • Allergic to Lidocaine
  • Viral infections and/or diseases
  • Epilepsy
  • Had an organ transplant
  • Bloodborne conditions such as HIV or Hepatitis
  • Skin cancer
  • Breast feeding

Healing Process

  • As with any other semi-permanent makeup procedure, clients will experience scabbing during the healing process.

DAY 1-3

  • Brows will look darker and thicker as scabbing starts to form.
  • Brows feel tender and sore and may look warm and /or reddish.

Day 4-5

  • Redness should be reduced.
  • Flaking and crusting of the eyebrows may occur.
  • Eyebrows may feel dry and itchy.
  • Scabs peel off in random pieces and look patchy.
  • The areas without the scabs may look lighter in color.

DAY 6-12

  • Scabs continue to peel off in random pieces.
  • 70-100% of scabs should fall off during this time.
  • Color looks very light and the shape may look thinner.
  • Some areas may have lost more color compared to the other areas.
  • Color can look uneven.

DAY 13-21

  • Brow color gradually darkens as the skin fully heals.
  • The fully healed color will be 30-50% lighter from the initial appointment and retention can vary according to skin type.
